14640550 Private John Nicholas Bright was born on 6^th April 1925 in Droitwich, Worcestershire; the son of Reginald Horace Francis Bright and Olive Winifred Bright (née Cheshire).

In 1939 he was living with his parents and siblings at 6 Coventry Avenue, Worcester and working as a labourer at a metal works.

John was a member of B Company of the 11^th Battalion when he jumped and fought at the Battle of Arnhem alongside the other battalion members. We don't have details of his injuries but he was reported as wounded on 20^th September 1944.

John returned home after the battle and in the spring of 1945 John married Doris Irene Gardner in Worcester.

Between 1957 and 1962 John was living at 92 Carlisle Road, Droitwich Between 2003 and his death John had been living at 75 Cherry Orchard, Pershore.

On 28^th December 2005 John died in Pershore, Worcestershire, just a few miles from the town of Droitwich where he had been born.
