7888782 Sergeant Michael Joseph Elliott MM was born on 5th March 1919.

Sergeant Michael Joseph Elliott MM Citation He initially served with the Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps and won the Military Medal for actions in the Middle East in 1942, before transferring to Airborne service. Michael was on parachute course No. 63 at Ramat David, Palestine, from 31 August to 11 September 1943.

He was subsequently assigned to Battalion Headquarters, Intelligence Section, 11th Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Michael died on 19 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery, grave 17.C.15.

On 1st November 1949, Michael's medal were issued to Mrs M A Elliot of 16 Cissbury Road, Hove, Sussex
