5630473 Private Frank Henry William Cummings was on parachute course number 57 at Ramat David in Palestine from 01 to 11 August 1943.

After getting his wings he was posted to the 11th Parachute Battalion. He was either in Headquarters or in Support Company.

During the fighting at Arnhem he was badly wounded in the early days of the battle and ended up in the St Elizabeth Hospital and later at Stalag XIB in Fallingbostel, Germany, where he got his prisoner of war number 118353.

When he finally returned home in 1945 and was discharged from hospital he didn’t settle well and migrated to Australia where he met his wife. He passed away from Cancer in 1986 at 65 years of age.
