Life Story:
6913125 WOII Wilfred ‘Chick’ Hennon joined the 11th Parachute Battalion, at Kabrit in 1943.
From Kabrit he went with the battalion to Ramat David, Palestine, in March 1943.
He took part in the raid on the island of Kos from 15 until 25 September 1943.
He returned with the 11th Battalion to UK in January 1944.
From there he was posted as Company Sergeant Major of Defence Platoon to HQ 4 Parachute Brigade in April 1944 and was in Arnhem in September 1944.
He was wounded and taken prisoner of war at Arnhem.
After liberation he was repatriated to the UK on April 30, 1945
