4452924 Private John Redshaw Brown was born on 30^th October in either 1920 or 1921.

Prior to enlisting on 25^th September 1938 he was living at and was serving with A Company of the 11^th Parachute Battalion when he fought at the Battle of Arnhem during Operation Market Garden in September 1944.

John was taken prisoner of war on 19^th September 1944, shortly after jumping into Arnhem. He was initially taken to Stalag XIIA, Limburg and given POW number 91729.

When awarded his war medals on 16^th July 1949, John was living at 53 Checketts Road, Belgrave, Leicester.

John died on 18^th February 2002 in Leicester.
