4806484 Private Frank Bonser was born on the 30 September 1917 in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire to parents
Harry Bonser and Elizabeth Bonser (née Strawbridge).
In 1921 Frank, his parents and older sibling were living at 34 Hazel Grove, Hucknall, Notts.
By 1939 he and his
parents were shown as living at number 2 Hazel Grove, Hucknall, Notts. His father was shown as a Colliery
Corporal and ARP Warden. Frank was shown as a Printer (Own Account) which means he had his own source of income.
Frank served in the Army Catering Corps attached to C Company of the 11th Parachute Regiment. He was reported
missing whilst fighting at Arnhem on 25th September 1944. He was captured by the Germans and taken to
Camp XIB Fallingbostel and given the PoW number 117591.
On the 5th of May 1950 Frank was awarded his medals and was shown as living at 24 Florence Street, Hucknall,
Notts.
Frank died on the 16th of May 1978 aged 60 years.
